The Squeaky Clean Legacy:Chapter 17.2 (1/30/10)

Postby professorbutters on January 24th, 2007, 8:26 pm

The Squeaky Clean Legacy is my first attempt at a legacy. I'm doing the Strict Family Values handicap (no pre- or extra- marital WooHoo) and also all the heirs have to be girls.

But the real point of the Squeaky Clean Legacy is pathological cuteness. You'll especially notice a proliferation of pink, which has been a bit tough on a family with five boys in it.
Sorry about the picture quality in the first two chapters. I've learned an awful lot about how to keep plumbbobs out. etc.

If you are new to this, you may wish to consult our spankin' new Family Tree.

If you want some of my Legacy Sims, I have them up on a 4shared account. You can see the listing with pictures on my Live Journal, here.

If you need a review, you may wish to skim these recap chapters. If you are absolutely new, you may start here, but I do not recommend it: there are a number of extreme bits of plottiness, and you will spoil the surprises. I suggest reading along and using the recap chapters as reminders.

Dramatis Personae. Recap, Generations 1-5.

Recent Goodytwoshoes History, Part I. Mostly Generation 6.

Recent Goodytwoshoes History, Part II. Mostly Generation 7.

Generation One: Rosie Goodytwoshoes

Chapter 1 The beginnings of the Squeaky Cleans, with foundress Rosie Goodytwoshoes.

Chapter 2 Only girls inherit. So why are there five boys? Why?

University, Generation Two

Chapter 3 University Chapter, as my geeky well-behaved kids go to Sim State and a black sheep starts to emerge from the family!

Generation Two: Daisie-Mae Goodytwoshoes

Chapter 4.1 Generation three is born. Once more, a rash of boys born into an all-girl legacy house, still more pink, and fun and games with vampires.

Chapter 4.2 Desperation sets in as the house becomes packed with boys. Simselves begin to make an appearance, as death goes pink.

Chapter 4.3 Will the Goodytwoshoes go for ten kids? Will they go crazy first? Will I? More simselves appear, plus a Roman interlude.

Chapter 4.4: GirlskilloramaGirls, girls, girls! Uh, not like that. A house full of six girls and one cranky older woman skilling like mad; the downtrodden Remington Harris-Goodytwoshoes goes for the gold--toymaker badge; our first Romance Sim; and the ghosts start to get nasty.

University, Generation Three

Chapter 5.1 Goodygirls. University edition, as the four oldest girls move to college and start up a sorority. Who's going to be the heiress? Can we keep it Squeaky Clean?

Chapter 5.2: Goodygirls Two. The results of the heir poll. All the girls scramble to get ready for being heiress, like it or not. And the politics threaten to get ugly.

Chapter 5.3: Uni Ends, Life BeginsChapter 5.3 The conclusion of the Generation three Uni years. Graduation, renovation, reproduction, revolution! And death! Plus kittens!

Generation Three: Sunny Goodytwoshoes.

Chapter 6.1: The Golden Age, Part 1 Sunny, the Generation Three heiress, tries to usher in a new Golden Age of Squeaky Cleans, but jealousy from within and rivalry from without threaten to undermine everything.

Chapter 6.2: Golden Age, Continued. Publius goes for five top businesses, we crank out more kids, the Roman vs. Squeaky Clean culture wars continue; with guest appearances by Blite27, smoothiequeen87, Ephemeral Toast, Renee, and, finally, Aaroc!

Chapter 6.3 The Golden Age, Part 3 A little business, a little family news, the culture wars continue, and some random weirdness.

Chapter 6.x: Rich at the Publius' Expense. Publius explains how he achieved his lifelong dream of five top level businesses.

Chapter 6.4: Princess and Peasant. In which we get to know the two potential heiresses. Romance, death, and the opening of a questionable business.

University, Generation Four

Chapter 7.1: Romance, Rebels, Romans. More romance, more rebellion, the culture wars of Pleasantview go collegiate, more pathological cuteness--but is Squeaky Clean doomed to go down the drain?

Chapter 7.2: Love vs. Parents. The Goodytwoshoes and Marian heirs are announced, children are torn between their families and True Love, weddings, glitches, and a special awards ceremony. Simself special appearances by Ephemeral Toast and Blite27, cameos by Rubbersushi and avidreader.

Generation Four: Aurora Goodytwoshoes

Chapter 8.1: Too Much Romance. Romance and Pleasure Sims take over both the Roman and the Goodytwoshoes families. Even the Knowledge Sims in town start to act oddly. And a lot--a LOT--of babies.

Chapter 8.2: Results of Romance.. What are the results of romance? Well, in this Legacy, it's a whole lotta babies, plus more plotting, weird religions, and a mysterious death.

Chapter 8.3: Try For Baby. We're up to our ears in babies--mean babies. More dancers, more Romans, more intrigue, and more weirdness.

Chapter 8.4: Heiress/Schmeiress. The Goodytwoshoes girls work their guts out, Mortimer goes stir crazy, Cassius degrades our morals, we zip around the businesses, Flavius does his first labor, and college promises to be freaky.

Chapter 8.5: The End of Romance. The end of Generation Three, the beginning of Generation Five, a cute kitten, and the Twelve (?) Labors of Flavius.

University, Generation Five

Chapter 9.1: Not Enough Friends. Getting the girls into the Goodygirls drives me nuts, we have the most diverse group yet, crystal ball chaos, some thoughts on chemistry.

Chapter 9.2: Boltage and Skanque. Is not the name of a law firm. Three three bolt couples, two skanky Romance Sims, multiple engagements, and a daddy's dilemma.

Generation Five: Ruby Goodytwoshoes

Chapter 10.1: De Gustibus non est disputandem, or there's no accounting for taste. Graduation, seven weddings, an unexpected romance, another questionable business, some even more questionable choices. . . plus recipes.

Dramatis Personae. Or who the heck are all these people? A Squeaky Clean recap up to Generation Six.

Chapter 10.2: Sweet And Precious.. We go cuter! We go nicer! We go sweeter with ice cream and adorable babies! And maybe a little bit cheesier.

Chapter 10.3: Villains. And why that cowplant wasn't hungry. Our heiress grows up, our Legacy battles for its most hallowed traditions, sleepless villainy, some cute kitties, and a Harry Potter costume.

Chapter 10.4: Interludium. Legacy spares, Romans, why nothing small goes into a bar, and the hunt is on for Pleasantview's resident supervillain.

University, Generation Six

Chapter 11.1: Morality Strikes Back We go Cleaner and Squeakier than ever--perhaps a bit too clean and a bit too squeaky.

Chapter 11.2: Much Too Clean. The truth about the Goodytwoshoes family past, love, and money, not necessarily in that order.

Chapter 11.3:Nice Clean Ending. Not really the ending at all, let's hope. All Is Revealed, much is resolved. Some are content, some are discontent, weddings, graduations, a simself baby, and a hair glitch.

Generation Six: Emerald Goodytwoshoes.

Chapter 12.1: Love in Bloom. And I mean bloom. Many many many weddings, including our Legacy heiress, and everybody is in love and very very happy. Now with real flowers!

Chapter 12.2: Naughty and Nice. Generation Seven is born. Fall is here. Christmas is coming. But who is Naughty, and Who is Nice?

Chapter 12.3: Roman Holiday. We catch up with the Romans and Flavius continues his mayoral campaign.

Chapter 12.4: A Squeaky Clean Christmas.

Chapter 12.5: Gold and Gardening. Part One of a two-part update. The neighborhood children, Romans and Goodytwoshoes, become teenagers, Ruby goes for the Fortune Master Point--simselves and legacy sims decide their children's romantic fate. . . or not.

Chapter 12.6: Robots and Rebellion. The conclusion of Generation Seven's teenage years.

University, Generation Seven

Chapter 13.1: Kiss. . . Smootch. Valentine's Day, dating, true love, and other horrors.

Chapter 13.2: With Friends Like These, Part 1 : Who needs enemies? Bon Voyage hits the Squeaky Clean world with a vengeance.

Chapter 13.3: With Friends Like These, Part 2: And keeps on hitting. Round the world tour, dating, disappointment, death, and Simselves.

Chapter 13.5: Restoration. Containing the answers to much you always wanted to know.

Chapter 13.6: Revelation. Containing the answers to everything else you always wanted to know.

I liked it. Rosie's college look was really cute and you have an interesting theme going. (Even I'd die at the amount of pink in that house, but hey, it works.)

Two things...try to get closer pictures of your family at times, and try to keep plumbobs out of the pictures. For the most part, I can't see the kids' faces, and that's sad.

Good luck with the next update ^_^

A legacy that is full of good wholesome values? That's about as rare as you can get in these days of popular Romance Sims. In fact, I can't wait to see what happens when you do get a Romance Sim.

I'm abusing other people's simselfs, so you can use mine.

smoothiequeen--thanks for the reading and review and for the tips! I am getting better at closeups and plumbbobtoggle. You'll be able to see in tne next chapter when I figured it out.

Blite--I guess that's why I'm doing this, just to be snarky and different. No Romance Sims yet, but I am playing a Pleasure Sim and she is coming along nicely as the Black Sheep of the family. My guess is that if a Romance Sim becomes heiress, she will be in aspirational failure nearly all the time, but them's the breaks. If she's not the heiress, she does have some options. Gotta get that Romance Platinum Grave somehow.

Wow, I didn't see that you'd updated. My bad. Means there's more I can read now though ^_^

Vanessa Pedersen left her first date with Abner claiming that he failed to meet her needs. But I don't see how he could have met *this* need. There are some things that you have to do alone.

I. Laughed. So. Hard. My family is starting to hate me. It's not my fault people are funny! *coughs* That was a great slide ^_^

Hopeful's makeovers were funny. Those things are always good for a kick since most Sims botch them up the first few tries. The crinoline dresses are really cute too, although I don't know who'd be caught dead wearing them. I guess it's a case of 'nice to look at but not to wear.'

Remington and Daisie Mae are a cute couple. I don't always like him myself but they work. Plus he's a nice Family Sim and that's perfect for this legacy! (And he's a natural blonde too as I'm sure you guessed...recessive genes rule *grins*) And he's faithful! Good pick!

Renee: DEATH. That, my friend, is what the future holds.

Oh nice one, Renee, really.

It must be frustrating to keep getting boys when you're playing a matriarchy. But hooray for finally getting some girls! It'll be interesting to see if you try the 10 kid impossible want, since you're more than halfway there already. And I loved seeing the toy shop.

Really cute updates. You're doing really well.

Ten kids? Good luck with that. I've never had the stomach for that. Six was enough to drive me insane. And it figures you got nothing but boys when you're running a matriarchy. At least you got your twins. Then again, twin toddlers are evil incarnate.

Remington: Jeez. Eighty trillion years later and I'm still the maid, only I don't get paid for it. I don't know if it's all been worth it.

Once an NPC, always an NPC. At least he'll probably get lots of woo-hoo out of it.

And my simself makes an appearance. Thanks for the compliment. I wonder if he's going to find himself in that household in an upcoming generation.

Great update. Can't wait to see how you handle the 10 kids want.

Thanks again for reading, guys!

smoothiequeen--
The crinoline dresses are really cute too, although I don't know who'd be caught dead wearing them. I guess it's a case of 'nice to look at but not to wear.'

Weirdly enough, I actually have a couple of dresses just like this. I'm a retroaholic and they were old Laura Ashley thingies with I kid you not a huge crinoline skirt. I can tell you firsthand that they aren't comfy and that under that dress are some serious undergarments, but the high heels are the real killer. When I first saw Rosie walking around I assumed that they might be slowing her down, but they don't do anything to Daisie Mae, so I guess not.

Remington and Daisie Mae are a cute couple. I don't always like him myself but they work. Plus he's a nice Family Sim and that's perfect for this legacy! (And he's a natural blonde too as I'm sure you guessed...recessive genes rule *grins*) And he's faithful! Good pick!

Believe it or not, I *didn't* realize Remington was a natural blonde! I took a look at Joe and kind of wondered, because Daisie Mae is *not* a natural blonde--I changed her appearance as soon as she became a toddler and she's had "dyed" blonde hair ever since. So the non-natural blonde with real black hair married a natural blond with dyed brown hair and they've had one blond kid--*brain boggles*. Remington drives me nuts sometimes because he does this really annoying "honey, I'm home" thing out by the mailbox but he is this legacy's much-needed second generation patsy. Who knows what will happen once Shane dies, because it will be the first time I haven't had at least two Family Sims in the house.

It must be frustrating to keep getting boys when you're playing a matriarchy. But hooray for finally getting some girls! It'll be interesting to see if you try the 10 kid impossible want, since you're more than halfway there already.

Aggh! If I'd realized how many *unnecessary boys* I would get I would never have started! BTW, I downloaded your simself but she hasn't turned up yet. Only a matter of time.

Ten kids? Good luck with that. I've never had the stomach for that. Six was enough to drive me insane. And it figures you got nothing but boys when you're running a matriarchy. At least you got your twins. Then again, twin toddlers are evil incarnate.

Oh, man, don't I know it--I've had twin boys twice so far. With about a billion snapdragons and at least one permaplat Sim, it's not too terrible, though. Feed em the smart milk, get two of the three toddler skills out of the way--I prefer potty, talk, and then walk because otherwise they play with the toilet more often--set 'em to yank rabbit ears and check on them once in a while. They can go to the potty themselves. My least favorite thing in The Sims is the yowling toddlers do when their energy bar is full and they're left in their cribs. If you just let 'em yell, eventually they plop back down and start to eat their hands.

Remington: Jeez. Eighty trillion years later and I'm still the maid, only I don't get paid for it. I don't know if it's all been worth it.

Once an NPC, always an NPC. At least he'll probably get lots of woo-hoo out of it.

The sad part is that he doesn't, though, because with Strict Family Values they can't WooHoo when the option isn't there, which includes when the house is full (it's cool when the female Sim is pregnant or too old.) So right now Remington is stuck until Shane dies and/or I get rid of one of the cats.

We'll see what happens with your simself. If he's lucky, he'll wind up with a spare-ess. They get all the fun and money, though not a lot of play, and once they're off the premises the Try For Baby stuff doesn't apply to them.

Death. To. Highheels. Death. To. Them. I. Say. *stabs*

*coughs* moving on from violent tendencies...the Pleasantview townies/NPCs (who are also the default ones in custom neighborhoods) actually contain a few who dye their hair. Remington is one, Kaylynn is another, one of the headmasters and a gardener...a lot of them. Can't remember them all. So Rosie's blonde hair is back in the gene pool. Yay! So if you really DO go for the ten-kid want, some more of the kids may get the blonde as well.

Gotta love Family Sims even with their annoying "Honey, I'm home" dance. They're great to have in a legacy although too many of them get boring.

I hope you have fun with SimMe! It'd be fun to see her at the toy shop. ^_^

I really like this story. I didn't so much at first because of the way it was told, but you seem to have grown into a good storytelling mode over just the first few chapters. Good job on that.

Also, I'll volunteer my simself up for townieism if you'll have him. Link's in my sigie

Thank you, Aaroc! I'll be downloading him once my computer's been replaced, fixed, whatever they're going to do. Yeah, I know the early chapters weren't all that great. It's been a steep learning curve, but I think reading other people's Legacies and learning about camera angles and stuff has helped a little bit.

I'm actually pleased to have some blondyness--blonditude?--back in the gene pool, too, but I'm also grateful to Remington for bringing in his table manners (appalling). Until I bred him in, my Sims would take neat lady and gentleman like nibbles of things while they slowly starved to death (Me: "EAT!! EAT, dang it! Rassafrasselmasslegrarrer!") His kids, so far, vacuum up food in about twelve nanoseconds. And so far the trend is towards cuteness, blondeness, longhaired cats, and (dare I say it?) dumbness. Daisie Mae's the exception, but like I said, her hair is dyed.

Yup, you're right, your picture-taking did improve. So did your writing, probably because you seem more involved with the story than you did in the first chapter. I like it; I'm playing a Patriarchy myself, so I know the woes of the Wrong Gender Child.

Keep writing, I'll keep reading. :)

Woot! Yay, more squeaky cleanliness!

I personally couldn't imagine having 10 kids in one generation. But then again my current family sim heir is retarded and never rolled any wants to interact with his children without those wants quickly being replaced by pet interactions >_<. Another great chapter, PB!

And before you go saying that's weird, ask yourself--how many simselves have been with Gage Uglacy by now? I rest my case. Look on the bright side. There's no question as to who'll wear the pants. Flavius doesn't even *own* pants.

Hey, I resent that. *laughs* The part about Flavius not owning pants was hilarious, though. And this way, you can be sure he won't get killed by Renee's cowplant.

Your cats are SWEETIES. Awwwwww. They're both really pretty. Congrats on doing the ten-kid want...boy is that ever a doozy. Moonbeam and Delightful are so cute. Actually, all of the last four kids are. The Shane features grow on you and they don't really look too bad. Six girls. Are you going to have a poll?

Look at you. You look like Barbie n' Stacy and you live in a house that looks as though it were designed by Waylon Smithers. I'd say yes.

They actually sorta do, now that I think about it. If you DO that want, that will be wonderfully awesome. I don't think anyone has yet...we're all too scared to. ^^;

Great update...it had me giggling the whole way through. ^_^

Hmm. What's worse--getting with Gage Uglacy or *not* getting with Gage Uglacy? So many simselves have lost their custom-hair covered heads over him that I figure there's no shame in it anymore. I worried about sticking Flavius in the game--I seriously meant for him to marry into the legacy, then changed my mind. I realized later that he's very much like two of my other Popularity Sims, Rosenkrantz Guildenstern and Guildenstern Rosenkrantz. The latter is especially bad at being popular, which is odd because they're blonde and brunette clones of each other. After managing them and Tybalt and Mercutio all in the same dorm, keeping a Popularity Sim happy is a snap. I mean seriously, Flavius is platinum *all the time.* I guess Knowledge Sims must have a thing for him because Daisie Mae keeps rolling the want to flirt with him, even though she keeps dropping the friendship and even though they have negative chemistry. NOT happening, Daisie Mae, check the rules. Smart girl+doofus= a classic combo, evidently.

I'm enjoying having Romans running around town. Not shown: Flavus swiping lobster and cleaning out Denise Jacquet at poker (ka-ching); Publius Numantius in the hot tub with Mary-Sue Pleasant, and Drusus Nero shopping for clothing. Still haven't seen your Simself, btw!

Thanks! Had no idea what we'd be getting but I agree, they're adorable.

Yeah, when I married him in I wasn't thinking about looks at all. I only worried because the brown-haired guy at Academie La Tour in the Secret Society is a Romance Sim, and I was so naive that I didn't know to look for Aspirations on dates. DUH. If it weren't for Shane, the Legacy would have died out in Generation One, because Rosie was such a cementhead. I actually used to yell, "Oh, thank God! Shane is home!" when he got back from work. And his gold toymaker's badge kicked off the toy shop requirement, so he really put his stamp on the Legacy. RIP, Shane Hiatt-Goodytwoshoes. We'll miss you.

Six girls. Are you going to have a poll?

Almost certainly, though I might cull for Aspiration. I already have three Family Sims and I don't need another. And I'm not trying for twenty simultaneous Pet Best Friends. It's bad enough keeping *people* best friends, and you can't call pets!

Tina and Aaroc--I can't recommend doing 10 kids. Honestly. Now I've got to do the toddler thing X2 again *and* I'm in for two more headmaster visits. I hate that guy. Can't tell you how many times I've looked for the option "Fight. . .Slap" when he's over. This is why my favorite Legacy spare doesn't have kids at all, and why Hopeful, who I think will get a little more play soon, only has one. I need the rest.
