I like your legacy story so far! And the house is really cool! My legacy family lives on that lot too.
Can't wait to see what happens to the family next.

Oh Craxy, you need some serious friendly hugs *hug*
Your parents' evacuation; I hope they are OK and that their place will be OK. And I wish you and your wee one a speedy recovery; it really is no fun looking after sick children when you are sick yourself.
But the loss of your legacy ... *sigh* ... I'm upset and I feel so utterly sorry for you. Please please don't let it put you off the sims, man, we only just got you back. *beg*

Thinking of you and yours. *grouphug*

Awwwes, thanks guys *grouphug*

So, it's a hardware issue with my DVD-ROM drive; I'm luring one of the IT guys from work over on Thurs to help me sort it out (he's willing to work for beer and hot lubbins, yay!)...thank goodness I backed everything up on my external, so no worries Shadey, the legacy is still intact somewhere in file land! I'm not giving up on it yet!
Barring that, I too have a hacked copy I can replace my legit game with

Lol, I should load up my S2; it boots off of the download manager so it'll work fine.
P.S. no pygmy mud dances for you Catherine :P

Yes, please do! Terrible amoral software pirates need love too!
I can't wait for you to be all fixed up and updating again. I would chip in for the beer for helpful IT guy but it would be pirated beer, arrr!

I believe that would make it rum instead of beer?

Also, if you want to zip it and e-mail it to me, I can host your simself where mine is hosted. PM me and let me know.

I really hope you and the IT guy are able to save it, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Oh, and how about having pirated beer and rum ready, just to be on the safe side. We can't leave anything to chance in such a precarious situation as this.

stircraxy wrote:**Loads up Sims 3 looking for a stress buster**, oh ho ho! No no Miss Craxy, noooooo: Error Code 13 for you again! Loss of legacy played time x2! Yays!
Enter a few hours of forum trawling for troubleshooting error code 13. Enter failure of all suggestions from replacing saved files to pygmy mud dancing. Finally Craxy has a brilliant idea of duplicating legacy household and moving them to sparkly new Sunset Valley neighborhood: WIN! Elation! Joy! okay, reboot pc, aaaaand...what? disk error? Pfft! **takes out sims 3 disk and waves in front of computer to prove I *has* it for shore**, reboot again...disc failure again. Craxy gives up and goes on boolprop to whine.
</rant>

**sigh** I'm going to bed.

Did you ever figure out what caused the error? It is an error I got last night when trying to save. Then I got an error 12. I looked them both up. They are save errors. Anyway, I ended up saving with a new name (no idea yet if it worked). I am wondering if it has something to do with the Indie Stone Mod, I'm going to do some researching.

I hope your game is working again. I will hate it if you can't continue your legacy.

Did a little research on the save errors (13 and 12). Apparently one of the Gurus is 'working on it' as of 7/14/09 on the forums (yeah, I couldn't believe a Guru actually replied on a forum question either). Meanwhile the workaround is located here: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/64120.page

The gist is save often, just in case :(

Pfft, Guru's don't reply to forums...it's a fake!

Heh, anyways, yes, I have tried all the troubleshooting solutions to error 13 (and 12 for that matter), unfortunately mine falls under the "huh, nothing works" category. I have rectified the problem with the error code by copying my legacy household to the bin and loading them into a new sunset valley neighborhood...but now my DVD-ROM is refusing to boot the game, bleh, if it's not one thing it's another eh?

So we'll see how it pans out...I can still play TS2 though, yay! :?

Thanks you Rhea! I appreciate the comments!

For those who are interested:
The next chapter is coming along slowly, thanks to some mod complications; I'm eager to get it finished so I can play my poor neglected WYD some more. :(
My poor legacy family, they're up and running again, but now their all buggy...I'm working through it, one error reporting forum at a time, bleh.

OMG update yay! I'm glad that you got through most of your problems - hope you figure out the wants thing.

You know, you're still the only person to have downloaded my simself.

Spoiler:
Lovely as always - I really like Demeter's outfits. And it's awesome that they all got variations of green as favorite colors.

I love your legacy. It is a perfect blend of the standard legacy, and a plotted legacy with lots of detail.
Spoiler:
I like how you gave Master Leaf a unique personality because he was not green.

Can't wait for more updates.

Craxy! You have Made My Day I really, really, really needed to read an update from someone who has recovered (sort of) from a crash. Read my latest and you'll see why.

The Simselves. Oh, they made me laugh so very much. Thank you for inviting us all to come play in your little world!

I guess I'll use a spoiler tag now, bleh.

Spoiler:
I was glad to see a new little Sprout in the family. I was surprised to see how attached I had gotten to the young Sprouts as children, and it was a bit of a sad moment for me when I saw them as teens. They just grew up too fast! Seriously. I mean all that. I was honestly gettin' all emotional and stuff. I just luv the Sprouts soooo much!

Now, I must go read your update at least twice more, because once was not enough!

Oh wow, I now have a sims3 simself even though I don't actually have the game yet? That must surely be some kind of record. But I love her/me(no that sounded wrong), you made her very like my sims2 version. So, once I do get the sims3 I guess I'll have to ask you to upload my simself so I can have her too.
Only two remarks: Firstly thank you for being so kind on her/my nose, why she looks almost pretty, Secondly ... um... I don't know if I really dig that long sleeved t-shirt along with the short skirt, would it be possible to change the top perhaps? I like the colour green.
It's so much fun to see simselves in stories, well I get a kick out of it anyhow. I'm guessing we're all aging along with the neighbourhood?
LOL at the sims2 head you pasted on my dummy sim, you must have dived down in some of my ancient OWBC updates to find that one.

Chapter comment spoiler'ised:
Spoiler:
Shame Demeter grew up too nice-looking for your liking, still, it's early days for your legacy, plenty of time to mess up the genetics, surely.

lol at that pic of Misty, what on earth makes a sim screw up her face like that?
And Greycurse's hate of staplers... what is that all about?

OOoo and now Aaroc and Williow are married? Gosh, we must see the kiddies!
So far I think it's wonderful how sims just marry like that without your intervention. I may change my mind once I get the game myself but so far I think it's a very amusing feature.

Young master Leaf grew up pretty descent and I must say he cuts a fine figure in his tighty-whities; I almost feel a wolf-whistle coming on.
lol at the hair you choose for him; proper dorky.

Demeter: "Seriously, we're just doing homework together!"

What??

Demeter: "Don't play the innocent with me; I smell a narrator naming our unborn children."

The very idea!
Ooo! Purple eyes! Imagine if they got some of Mr. Ramsey's hair to boot!

Demeter: "Settle down, you'll give yourself the hiccups."
*laugh* *laugh*

Mind you, it does seem like its Lief's telly which is attracting Demeter to his house rather than Mr. Purple-eye himself.

David went back to sleep yet again during a birth? O_o Someone is in trouble.
What does that "break spine" thought bubble mean?

And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse:
And Aaroc and his rocket wish you a very good day!
 Oh dear Craxy, you truly are incorrigible.
Never change.

Thanks for commenting lady blue! I'm very excited about Demeter's green friend too!

You know, you're still the only person to have downloaded my simself.
Well, they all just don't know what they're missing; Misty and Persephone get along famously.
Lovely as always - I really like Demeter's outfits. And it's awesome that they all got variations of green as favorite colors.
The colors thing is pretty neat, but it makes me wonder about how favorite colors are generated.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
I like how you gave Master Leaf a unique personality because he was not green.
I thought I wouldn't like him much, as he's a pinky, but he's such a little character I've grown to love him tremendously.
Thanks for reading and commenting! *cookie*

Tee hee! I did make a subtle reference to them in the slide previous (about how much he was like his father), but you're right, there wasn't enough underoo comments in general in this chapter; I won't let it happen again! And for that matter I should have gotten a few more shots of David's whities but I was shamefully neglectful on that score as well!

Catherine!
Spoiler:
Craxy! You have Made My Day I really, really, really needed to read an update from someone who has recovered (sort of) from a crash. Read my latest and you'll see why.
Ho noes! what's happened? I'll go have a look as soon as I'm done with my thank you notes!
The Simselves. Oh, they made me laugh so very much. Thank you for inviting us all to come play in your little world!
And thank you for sacri--er, giving me your simselves to play with my Sprouts! They really are such good sports about all the fun I poke at them.
I hadn't planned on anymore children, but I'm glad about Twig as well...their childhood went very quickly for me as too :( though I played through it a couple of times with all the crashes. Strangely I was still surprised when I got Leaf's "growing up today" notification; I'm just glad someone else will miss 'em as much as me! *love*

Shadey!
Spoiler:
I love her/me(no that sounded wrong), you made her very like my sims2 version. So, once I do get the sims3 I guess I'll have to ask you to upload my simself so I can have her too.
I'm sure you could make a much better one! When you do get the sims3 I expect a certified moutainshade1 version, none of these Craxy knock offs
I don't know if I really dig that long sleeved t-shirt along with the short skirt, would it be possible to change the top perhaps?
I'm very sorry about the horrid shirt; I agree that it doesn't suit her at all, I need to redress pretty much all the simselves, and all the "townies" are going around in terribly mismatched clothes as well. I ended up losing all my CC during my game troubles and all the nice outfits everyone wore got reset to generic random game clothing *gloomy* I'll be certain to spruce at least the simselves up before I release another chapter!
It's so much fun to see simselves in stories, well I get a kick out of it anyhow. I'm guessing we're all aging along with the neighbourhood?
It tickles me as well, I *heart* my simself collection; but no, you won't any of you being ageing along with the neighborhood, I have a mod (Indie Stone) that allows me to keep you all fresh as daisies so you can go over and have lunch with my generation 10 heiress
LOL at the sims2 head you pasted on my dummy sim, you must have dived down in some of my ancient OWBC updates to find that one.
Mwahahas! That's exactly what I did 8-)
lol at that pic of Misty, what on earth makes a sim screw up her face like that?
Tee hee! She was wiping her nose on her sleeve and I caught her mid-wipe.
OOoo and now Aaroc and Williow are married? Gosh, we must see the kiddies!
This was the singularily most amusing thing that happened recently in the game...I'm very tempted to let them have a baby or twelve, but I'll be nice and wait for permission from them...or at least Willow
What does that "break spine" thought bubble mean?
I took some creative liberties with that, hee hee; it's actually a "my back hurts!" thought bubble, but I just had this lovely mental image of her crushing him under her pregnant bulk **giggle**
Oh dear Craxy, you truly are incorrigible.
Never change.
